Chaldean Mass Sunday 22nd December

On Sunday 22 December Mgr Daniel McHugh (Co-ordination of Ethnic Chaplaincies)joined the Chaldean Catholic Community for Christmas Mass celebrated by their temporary Chaplain, Father Andrewas, who has joined them recently from Michigan in the USA. The Chaldean Catholic Community in the Archdiocese are mainly from Iraq. This is one of the oldest Catholic communities claiming its origins are back in the time of St Thomas the Apostle.

Mgr McHugh interviewed Sub Deacon, Dr Subhi Zora with a view to recording information about the Chaldean Rite, and customs of the Chaldean church.  He also interviewed Father Aldrewas about the Church and the Faith, and its young people. After the Mass a celebration with food and drink brought by the people was shared. A recipe has been promised for the Website!
